Newcastle caretaker manager Chris Hughton will welcome back Argentinian winger Jonas Gutierrez for Sunday's match with Everton at St James' Park.

Hughton will also hope that Nigerian striker Obafemi Martins will be ready to play some part in the match with the Toffees after being out of action since December with a hernia problem.

Martins and fellow strikers Alan Smith and Mark Viduka are all in the squad, but long-term injury victims Joey Barton, Michael Owen, Habib Beye and Danny Guthrie are all still out.

Everton striker Louis Saha could earn a place on the bench.

The Frenchman has not played since injuring a hamstring in the victory at Tottenham Hotspur on 30th November.

Midfielder Tim Cahill and right-back Tony Hibbert are both suspended after reaching five bookings for the season while Marouane Fellaini (back), Leon Osman (stomach) and Steven Pienaar (hamstring) are unlikely to feature.
